Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find the right therapist?
This is such an important task! You want to feel comfortable with a professional whom you share personal information with. Often times, you can feel vulnerable in therapy, and you need someone who can support you. I always encourage my clients to engage in a phone/video consultation prior to starting therapy services to ensure that we are a good fit for each other.
What can I expect to do in therapy?
For the first few sessions we will spend time getting to know you and what brought you to therapy. This is called the assessment phase. We will create a treatment plan with you so that we know what the rest of our therapy will focus on. Treatment plans are fluid and change frequently, as in therapy one of our goals is growth.
How do I pay for therapy?
Lone Star Healing accepts private pay and insurance clients. Please share your preferred method of payment during consultation. Insurances accepted include but not limited to: Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Medicare, and United Healthcare.
How often do we meet for therapy?
Initially, clients are asked to come on a weekly basis and when all are ready, drop down to bi0weekly or monthly. This is something that we frequently address and revisit throughout our work together.
Do I have to have a diagnosis to be in therapy?
You are welcome to seek out therapy whenever you see fit. You do not have to have a previous mental health diagnosis to initiate services.
What types of clients do you accept?
Lone Star Healing accept clients of all ages, races, identities, and genders.
